Exercise the body, exercise the brain. The two go hand in hand. I have been trying to research the best exercise to stimulate the brain and have come to the following conclusion. For women, more of a moderate, stead state workout works best. An intensity level of about 60 – 65% for about 30 to 60 minutes appears to give the best results. For men, it appears that they develop better neural capacity with intervals. Intervals are a moderate tempo followed by a short, high intensity for about 20 to 30 minutes. Both sexes need over distance and intervals to increase the capacity of the other. In other words, get in shape.
What kind of exercise is best? To stimulate the brain, complex movements assists in the development of neural pathways. Complicated movements such as dancing or sports movements give the brain a double whammy, cardio and learning. Guess what, your brain doesn’t really care if you are good or not. It just wants you to do it.
So let’s start dancing to become stars. Stars of our own mind.
