P90X Day 18-21

Rest and recovery.  I needed more than physical rest.  Went through a tough week mentally, physically, and emotionally.  The yoga, and cardio days were enough for me.  I’m still tired, but will continue with the program on Monday.

Think I might try the Taco Bell diet.  I’d love to  make it big on TV doing a diet that yes, has a reduced calorie content, but the nutrient content slightly better than the bag.   How about instead of being so embarrassed that you have to use the drive-up, get out of you car and get a little exercise by walking all the way in and ordering to a real person instead of a speaker phone.  At least it can be entertaining in the line!  How about taking the Jared approach and walking to the  restaurant!  Novel concept.

I think I am going to start the Chick-Fil-A diet.  Or maybe the Krispy Kreme diet.  At least I will enjoy the food.  I guarantee results.  Unfortunately they are not the results you want =(   How about moderation and exercise?  Listen to your body and give it what it desires.

P90X Days 15-17

Been kind of lazy with the blogging as of late.  On a trip to Long Beach and the rain.  It is amazing how much it has rained!  Beginning to think the animals are pairing up!  It is a first Personal Fitness Trainer Certification in Long Beach and is hosted by Dave at LA Fitness.  Numbers look good!

As to my workouts, the plyometric day just about did me in.  My fake parts, hips and ankles, didn’t take kindly to the workout.  Have had to take  it easy a few days.   I’ve been in severe pain.  Not a good situation.  At least today was better and I look forward to continuing tomorrow.

P90X Day 14

Today was Back and Chest day again.  I attempted a few more reps with again reduced rest.   I feel stronger and able to adjust to the shortened rest.  Today I was a little nauseated after the workout.  Good!  Finally pushing hard again.

I have to confess that last night I watched the Golden Globe Awards.  It looked like a smorgasbord for personal trainers.  All those actors and actresses taped, strapped, and sewn into those outfits, trying to look natural praying that they didn’t have a costume malfunction.  Made the Advatar characters look realistic.  Try being healthy and enjoying the body you have!  Which, by the way usually is fantastic.

Traded yoga for legs Thursday, and I am still feeling them!  Great!  Yesterday yoga was a little challenging, trying to balance with sore quads.  Had to travel yesterday looking for new venues to conduct seminars. 

Today had an AAAI  / ISMA Sports Nutrition Consultant class at the Englewood CO Bally’s.  Had six participants, but was great interaction.  The Trainers at Bally’s in Denver are becoming more diverse in their training.  Great for their clients.  Tomorrow is a Pre / Post Natal Instructor Certification.  Hope participation is more, but with the same energy.

Shoulders and arms.  Again, modified the time but keep the exercises intact.  Completed the workout in about 35 minutes.  Totally spent, but felt great.  completed the ab section throughout the day.  Got some comments on the intensity from the members watching me.   It is good to see trainers sweating and struggling once in a while.  Have to switch Legs and yoga thursday and friday due to travel.  It will be interesting to see how a change in the order will feel.

Today was plyometric day again.  I have to say I really enjoyed the workout.  Fast forwarded through the rest and talking segments.  Time constraints again.  I knew what was coming and was able to pace the workout better.  Also that allowed me to work harder. 

I had a request to post nutrition info again, so I have decided to post a workout evaluation on Mondays and diet analysis on Thursday’s.  Look for those in the future.

Day 7 and 8 P90X

Well day seven was uneventful, because I took a day off to conduct a Personal Training Certification for AAAI.  Had five people at the Fort Collins club where I work, for the cert, and the class went well.  Great enthusiasm.

Today was the back and chest day again.  Did better knowing what to expect.  Felt more tired than last monday because I could work harder and faster.  People are starting to ask questions about the class, and I suspect that tomorrow I will have company working out.  May have to set up a DVD player and screen in the aerobics room to conduct classes.  Great problem to have, people wanting to workout!  Will see how sore I am tomorrow.

P90X Day 6 – Day of Enlightenment

Day Six.  Kenpo cardio day.  I have come to realize that instead of posting , I was placing my blogs in the draft file.  Yes, I’m totally here!  Nice Work.

The Kenpo cardio workout was comprised of kickboxing and boxing techniques, which were challenging enough to get a good sweat going.  Again, the duration was a little long for my liking.  I would prefer going harder and not longer.  Maybe that’s later in the program.  The stretches were very good, and enjoyed them.  Great that flexibility is stress so much in the program.  

Tomorrow is a down day.  Good for me because it is the first AAAI Personal Training Certification seminar to conduct this year.  Numbers for a local cert look good.  Appears that the industry is still strong.

P90X Day 5

Day Five.  Legs and Back.  Of course it was more pull-ups, chins, with hand variations.   Very effective and a chance to excel.  A multitude of lunges and squat modifications, angles, one legs, balance, etc.  With my orthopedic issues, repetition sometimes gets the best of me, and I had to modify the amount I did.  No problem though.  I wonder if the actors got their legs from only doing the P90X Program.  Looks like they’ve done a little heavy lifting to develop their size.

Day Four.  Yoga.  I always enjoy a good yoga, pilates, stretching class, but I felt this class was too long.  I usually only allow for about an hour for exercising and this was closer to an hour an a half.  Maybe it’s my ADHD, but doing yoga for more than an hour doesn’t work for me.  So I just cut it short.
